- The method for using The Qur'an as The Criterion in the field of Translation and for attempting to understand Its Meanings is that each and every Ayah of The Qur'an, where the Word or Verb or Particle or Root or Pattern or Verb Form etc. has been used, should be taken into account before concluding the translation or meaning shades for it. Using various types of Qur'an Concordance, Qur'anic Usage and Qur'anic Context as a criterion to verify and judge the assumed:
- Arabic Grammar Rules
- Arabic Roots Meanings
- Arabic Word Pattern Effects on Meanings of Root
- Arabic Words' Meanings
- Arabic Particles' Meanings
- Arabic Verbs' Meanings
- Arabic Verb Forms Meanings
- e.g. do the assumed meaning shades for a word stand the test of The Qur'an Concordance and The Qur'an Contextual Analysis or not, and if not, more work must be done to investigate the meanings further. For example, does إِنْ شَآءَ mean If he wills or does it mean if he wills to make it happen or does it mean if he makes it happen or does it mean different options from the above 3 depending on the being to whom this verb is referred to? The best answer is to thoroughly investigate all Qur'anic usage for the root of this verb and also all the Aayaat where this verb has come and all the Aayaat where this root has come.
- Another important thing to keep in mind while translating is that the more accurate method is that in some cases words should be retained even after translation and then definition and explanation for the retained words has to be given. Before translating a word, another important thing to do is to check the definition and explanation of the word being chosen as the translation in the language to which it is being translated. What are your options when you don't find an equivalent word in the language to which you are translating to. The best option is to retain the word and give its definition and explanation. Other options include, choosing a word that covers some of the shades, but usually the word in this other language also covers some unrelated usages and meanings which are not in any way the meaning shades of the word in the source language being translated. When you check the meanings, definitions and explanations of seemingly common English words in English, you find that these are also explained in some detail. This strengthened level of translation in which definitions and explanations of the translated word are also checked, and after that, decision is taken whether to choose an appropriate word in English (along with its definition) or retain the Arabic word (along with its definition in English) has an added protection against changes in meaning shades of the translating language with time. Another option is to modify the definition of the word in the translating language in the translation being compiled in case minor changes in the definition can allow the usage of such word. But the definitions must in any case be permanent and inseparable part of the compiled translation. The above methods can be called translation with double depth in which not only the translation but also definitions of important words are inseparable parts of the work.
- Grammatical Concordance of The Qur'an in which all Aayaat containing a Grammatical Concept are inshaALLAH! gathered together & all Grammatical Concepts used in The Qur'an have an entry.
- For each Ayah of The Qur'an, Grammatical Concept labels are assigned inshaALLAH! for all used Grammatical Concepts.
- Once the Grammatical Concept Labels have been assigned inshaALLAH!, any grammatical label can be searched or clicked to return all the Aayaat of The Qur'an in which the Grammatical Concept has been used.
- In addition to being searchable, the Grammatical Concepts inshaALLAH! also have an entry in which all Aayaat having that Grammatical Concept are listed.
- The part of the Ayah where the Grammatical Concept has been used should be of a different color and the rest of the Ayah should be of a different color.
- A Seerah tool similar to Arabic Almanac inshaALLAH! having multiple books, together, searchable & studyable by events or years of the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
- How to study any year and event of the life of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in detail using multiple books without wasting time navigating to the required page on each book.
- Arabic Particles Tool containing all the books in Arabic Particles Quick Study tool .
- Search by giving drop down menu containing similar particles to choose from based on entering a few letters. Then the chosen particle or related word's relevant page inshaALLAH! to open in all books on selection.
- Or at the top, give a table listing all the particles and related words, clicking which, the relevant page to inshaALLAH! be opened in all books.
- Or make a table of all arabic letters and on hovering over any letter, a popup appears inshaALLAH! having links to all particles and related words starting with that letter.
- Since 21-2-2016 Final Excel index and final modified PDFs of all books are ready for this new proposed tool MashaALLAH!
- All search engines for Arabic Texts should allow both the below search options:
- Search Alphabets with Harakaat. (More accurate and specific method)
- Search only Alphabets. (Multiple related words instead of a specific word)
- Return the results matching the searched text, and highlighting the searched term in a different color.
- Once such a tool is designed that takes The Arabic Harakaat also into account, inshaALLAH!, this can be used to make more accurate Qur'an search engine, Seerah search engine, Sunnah search engine, Hadith search engine, Classical Arabic poetry search engine, History search engine, Arabic Grammar / Vocabulary / Particles / Balaghah and other Islamic Studies books search engines.
- Though the above method is the preferred method, another solution for the above idea is to:
- Also have the base text transliterations in addition to original Arabic texts.
- Convert the search term to transliteration in case it is typed in Arabic, and if transliteration is typed directly, simply search this transliterated term in the base text's transliteration.
- Return the results matching the transliterated search text in the transliterated base text, after converting them back to Arabic and also highlighting the searched term in a different color.
- Hadith Research Database
- Must include all Hadith available in Arabic (along with English Translation) along with grade of each Hadith assigned by all available grading scholars.
- Must include tagging by narrators (in Arabic and English), so that clicking any narrator, shows grading of that narrator in all grading books + it should display all Hadith by that narrator along with all available grades for each Hadith.
- https://isnad.io appears to be a step in the right direction but it has only included 6 books and seems to not have been updated since some time.
- Sunnah.com allows access to Hadith by Hadith number e.g. bukhari:111. As a next step, in the references with each Hadith, they can link the relevant streaming archive page containing that Hadith number in scanned Hadith book by publishers like Darussalam etc., e.g. Bukhari Hadith # 111 (Volume 1, Page 119, Darussalam edition) so that user can also check up the relevant scanned pages of officially published books, in addition to the typed Hadith on the website. Another thing that should be done by them is to add and link up footnotes using published books, just like thay have done for their Qur'an website where they give relevant footnotes also from the translations.
Click narrator >
display all his Hadith
+ view his profile in all Rijal books
+ view Grading for each Hadith by all graders
display all his Hadith
+ view his profile in all Rijal books
+ view Grading for each Hadith by all graders
- Why waste time searching through pages of Classical & Pre-Islamic Arabic Poetry, just to see more examples of usage of a word. The solution is to simply make the Relevant Classical & Pre-Islamic Arabic Poetry books searchable online. Just search the word and see its usage in these books. That's the only purpose to ever use such poetry books for many researchers.
- Metered & Transparent Funding & Utilization of Islamic Services - No more hidden or ambiguous utilization of donations, funds, sponsorship money or campaign money etc. - Transparent tracking of:
- Exact work done.
- Exact time spent.
- Exact person who worked on the task.
- Exact amount of money paid to the person for the above 3.
- Getting Important but slow moving or paused Islamic Projects sponsored so that they can go full time and get completed as soon as possible inshaALLAH! . Famous personalities with large following may be required to request the funding. The project owners can decide the per hour cost for themselves and each of their team members. Have you wondered why such useful projects fail... because the project workers usually don't have enough time or resources to make a living and complete such projects that require due time, in parallel. Even if they start these, they eventually pause in many cases. Following are some important projects paused or slow moving:
- Arabic Almanac and related tools, where expert for such tools is brother Erik Jan Taal. Arabic Almanac has already added most of the required books, and only about 2 or 3 books addition is required. Many other tools can be made inspired by Arabic Almanac, like I'rab ul Qur'an tool, Arabic Particles Tool, Seerah books tool etc. Brother Erik can be contacted and requested to go full time on such tools and decide his per hour cost and also for any of his team members he chooses, who work on his project.
- Revive Arabic Posts and Important Projects. This is my site and I have already listed the post types and projects that may be sponsored. InshaALLAH! the plan is to build a free reference site for learning Classical Arabic in required depth and also to complete some high impact projects.
- Downloadable Islamic Videos in 3 qualities: High Definition, Normal Quality, and online streaming format, instead of using TV channels to air these. Instead of airing Islamic TV channels via satellite which is very costly and in addition to that, various countries block the channels. The better alternate is to make Islamic sites and upload all the programs and videos in 3 qualities i.e. high definition, normal quality and streaming quality. The high definition and normal quality videos should also be downloadable. The programs can be sorted based on lecturer, topic, category etc. For viewers, why buy TV services with un-islamic channels as a part and parcel, why not go to the website and download or view the programs when and where they want. Sponsorship links and Halal advertisements can be aired on the websites to cover the costs. As an alternative method to meet the costs, the viewers can be requested to contribute towards the cost by giving a tracking page where the required funding and received funding is updated live.
